From Cyprus to Tottenham, 1981
The Tryfonos family brought their love of food from Cyprus to the heart of Tottenham. In 1981, they opened Chick King on the High Road.
The recipe was simple: fresh chicken, proper seasoning, generous portions. It worked from day one.
Over 40 years later, that same recipe is why people keep coming back.

Four Decades on the High Road
Chick King opens at 755 High Road, Tottenham. The Tryfonos family recipe gets its first customers.
Becomes a Spurs matchday staple. Fans discover the best chicken in N17 before every home game.
Second generation joins. Alex Tryfonos continues the family legacy, keeping the recipe unchanged.
Still here. While the High Road evolves, Chick King stays true to its roots. 44 years and counting.
Meet Alex
Owner, Chick King Tottenham
Alex Tryfonos grew up in the shop. It was his family's business, his community's meeting point, and eventually his life's work.
Today he runs Chick King the same way his parents did. Fresh ingredients. Proper seasoning. No shortcuts.
