Where It Started
From Cyprus to Tottenham, 1981
The Tryfonos family brought their passion for great food from Cyprus to the heart of Tottenham. In 1981, they opened Chick King on the High Road with a simple approach — fresh chicken, proper seasoning, and generous portions.
That commitment to quality quickly made Chick King a local favourite, and over 40 years later, the same recipe and family values continue to bring people back.
We opened with a family recipe, and people loved the food from day one. Through word of mouth and loyal local support, Chick King became a true community staple.
Our History
Four Decades on the High Road
Chick King opens at 755 High Road, Tottenham. The Tryfonos family recipe gets its first customers.
Becomes a Spurs matchday staple. Fans discover the best chicken in N17 before every home game.
The next generation steps up. Alex and Aggi continue the family legacy, keeping the recipe unchanged.

Alex and Aggi run Chick King together. It's the family business Alex grew up in, the community's meeting point, and their shared life's work.
Today they run the shop the same way it's always been run. Fresh ingredients. Proper seasoning. No shortcuts. And a warm welcome for everyone who walks through the door.
